At EA’s recent quarterly earnings call they finally put to bed the recently surfacing rumors about Titanfall coming to the new PlayStation 4 in the near future. Chief financial officer Blake Jorgensen stressed that Titanfall "is an exclusive only for the lifetime of the title on Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC." In effect this means that at least until Titanfall 2 (which we are sure they will make eventually) you won’t be able to enjoy this title for Sony’s console.
Jorgensen then went on to squashed worries that Respawn was rushing Titanfall to the market, he announced that the intended release date was always in the March, April, May 2014. We’re not too worried about this, the screenshots look amazing and the E3 trailer looked very impressive even 12 months plus left in development, even if this is slightly accelerated we can’t wait.
"No, we're not doing that at all," COO Peter Moore said on the subject of Titanfall's alleged hurry. He praised Respawn Entertainment's new talent, and he anticipates that it will review "very highly" when it launches in March 2014. He seems very confident that his team will produce a game they can be proud of, and hopefully it will live up to it’s hype.
The team also announced a limited edition version of the game which comes in at an incredible $250, the UK price is yet to be announced but will probably be in the range of around £150. Which might seem like a lot but, it truly will be a limited item in the future.
Elsewhere, EA's bank balance if looking good, it’s business as usual with its total net revenue of $695 million for the quarter 3 with only a slight decrease from $711 million for the same time last year, all round not bad!
If you plan to buy Xbox One then the news that the new Call of Duty: Ghosts reveal has been announced should please you! Activision and Infinity Ward revealed Call of Duty: Ghosts Extinction — an all-new 1-4 player cooperative game mode - in their recent Youtube video.
Extinction is quoted as featuring "a unique blend of fast-paced survival action, FPS base defense, scavenging and class leveling."
Similar to the previous Black Ops version - Zombie Mode, the new Extinction Mode is a fully cooperative experience, which will allow 1-4 players to fight together against evil hordes of invading aliens whilst they systematically destroy the alien's hives ending their attempt to invade.
The new extinction game mode features an impressive progression system which allows players to upgrade as they play. With a varied selection of four distinct player classes there are plenty of options to keep new and old players happy, and the new classes compliment one another’s abilities to allow for a truly team spirited game. Again, like Zombies, it’s a survival mode and once all players are dead you have to go right back to the start, don't pass go and don't collect £200.
There are elements of everything from base defense to FPS horde combat. Scavenging look important and there is a whole variety of alien monsters to defeat so a great mix to keep all kinds of gamers happy, and I mean who can help but enjoying blowing the head off ET?
So let it begin, there will soon be hordes of Xbox One players recording and streaming their progress on youtube, and we do wonder how long it will take to find a glitch mode...
We hope you enjoyed the video, if you want to pre-order Call of Duty Ghosts to make sure you get a head start on Extinction then make sure you order it here. Call of Duty: Ghosts (Xbox One)
